USACE Detroit District Change of Command
Inkster, Michigan, USA – Vanessa Willett, President of Advanced Integrated Solutions (AIS), and Alexander Masters attended the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Detroit District’s 54th Biannual Change of Command Ceremony at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial on 28 July 2016.
Lt. Col. Dennis Sugrue assumed command as District Engineer of the Detroit District. As D.E., Sugrue will oversee about 400 employees and a program worth more than $800 million.
Sugrue recently served as the Deputy District Engineer of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District for the last 2 years. Sugrue assumed command from Lt. Col. Michael Sellers, who served the district well for the last two years and will continue his military career in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Willett and Masters have engaged on numerous occasions with Lt. Col. Sellers and Society of American Military Engineer activities and events. “[Lieutenant Colonel Sellers] was a valuable member of the Detroit District and great asset to the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division. Lieutenant Colonel Sugrue will certainly be a great value add to our region as well,” Willett said.
